CUSTOMER FEEDBACK GUIDE

Invite details without writing the review for them.

A business can ask customers for feedback, but the customer should decide what to say and whether to post a public review. Keep prompts neutral and do not steer people toward a particular rating.

01

Use open, neutral questions

Ask what went well, what could be improved or whether the customer has anything else to share. Do not supply facts or wording for a public review.

02

Let customers choose whether to post

A private survey response is not permission to publish a Google review on the customer’s behalf. If they choose to review publicly, they should write it themselves.

03

Avoid incentives and review gating

Do not offer rewards for reviews or ask only satisfied customers to post. Give every customer the same neutral invitation.
